New Year, New Travel

It's a new year and time for new travel.  Not just opportunities for new travel plans for the year, but I challenge you to try something new.  A new destination, a new type of travel, new travel companions.  Find ways to expand your travel experiences this year.

I'm excited to share this month's newsletter with you.  It's our cruise edtion.  So, rather than a variety of travel information shared, each section will be crusied related.

I believe cruising can suit anyone's travel style. The common misconception is when you hear the word cruise, what's the first thing that comes to mind?  A large ship holding thousands of passengers no doubt.  While that is the most popular, there are so many options to cruising than just that.  Our feature article below dives into the different types of cruises and what they're all about.

A new year, new travels.  Don't miss out!

Discover the Perfect Cruise: Exploring Ocean, River, and Expedition Voyages

With the growing popularity of cruise travel, there are many choices when deciding what kind of cruise to take, including ocean, river, and expedition. All three offer you a different experience and appeal to various tastes and styles. There is no right or wrong choice. Let's look at these three different types of cruise travel to help you decide which is best for you and your family.

Travel Tip: The do's and don'ts of cruising

Do....

...pack a carry-on with a change of clothes for your first day on board the ship so you don't have to wait for your luggage to arrive.

..get ready to relax and unplug; it’s guaranteed when you sail.

...get the balcony! You'll feel like you have extra space and it's a nice quiet retreat from everything else happening on the ship.

Don't...

...be afraid of sea days - the days at sea when you’re not in port—these are some of the best days of all.

...skip out on the excursions and miss the opportunity to explore a new destination!

Did you know?

LNG Powered Ships

Cruise ships powered by LNG, which stands for Liquefied Natural Gas, are becoming increasingly popular in the travel industry.

These cruise ships use LNG as their primary fuel source, reducing greenhouse gas emissions and improving air quality.

Not only are LNG-powered cruise ships more environmentally friendly, but they also offer numerous other advantages. These include quieter operations, reduced vibrations, and increased fuel efficiency. Additionally, LNG has a higher energy content, allowing cruise ships to travel longer distances without refueling.

Ports around the world are increasingly equipped to handle LNG-powered vessels. This allows cruise ships to refuel easily and ensures smooth operations for travelers.

When sailing on a cruise ship powered by LNG, travelers can enjoy a more sustainable and eco-friendly vacation while still experiencing the luxury and comfort of modern cruise travel.

Family Reunions

Planning a family reunion can be a logistical challenge, accommodating different generations, interests, and schedules. That's where a cruise becomes the perfect solution. With various activities, dining options, and accommodations to suit diverse preferences and age groups, everyone in the family will have an unforgettable time together.

Cruise lines often have dedicated event coordinators who can arrange private dining rooms, group excursions, and personalized activities for your family. These professionals will work closely with you to create a tailored itinerary that meets the needs and preferences of your family members.

The convenience of a cruise allows you to explore multiple destinations without the hassle of packing and unpacking. Whether you want to relax on pristine beaches, embark on exciting adventures, or enjoy quality time together, a cruise offers a seamless and unforgettable experience for your family reunion.

Make memories that will last a lifetime as you explore new cities, experience different cultures, and enjoy the convenience and variety of a cruise.

Can you cruise without a passport?

Whether you can cruise without a passport depends on the specific cruise itinerary. If you're embarking on a cruise within the United States, such as a roundtrip cruise from Miami to the Caribbean, it is possible to cruise without a passport. Instead, you can use your government-issued ID card, such as a driver's license and birth certificate.

However, it's essential to understand that while cruising without a passport may be permissible for specific itineraries, having a passport offers several advantages and is highly recommended.

Reasons to cruise with a passport regardless of the requirements:

Having a passport allows you more freedom to embark on future international travel, whether by cruise or other means. By obtaining a passport, you open up a world of possibilities for future adventures.

A passport is a universally accepted form of identification during an unforeseen circumstance or emergency on your cruise. It can be invaluable when dealing with any unexpected travel-related issues.

Traveling with a passport offers peace of mind. You can feel confident knowing that you have the necessary identification to adhere to any potential changes in cruise itineraries or unplanned port visits.

While it is possible to cruise without a passport, it is recommended to have one for the added flexibility and peace of mind it provides. Having a passport allows you to enjoy international travel opportunities beyond the scope of domestic cruises. It’s always best to work with a travel advisor who helps you with the most up-to-date information on passport requirements for your cruise destination.

Happy cruising!
